Microsoft Office 是整合性的一般商業用途套裝軟體，包括文書處理、e-mail、簡報、資料管理與分析，表格管理等。

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional系列與Office Standard組合相同：全功能的文書處理程式Microsoft Word，表格程式Microsoft Excel，簡報程式Microsoft PowerPoint以及個人資訊管理程式Microsoft Outlook。

Office Professional增加三項程式:可建立列印文件與網頁的Microsoft Publisher；資料庫程式Microsoft Access; 以及收集表單形式資料的程式Microsoft InfoPath。

Office程式也運用新式溝通與整合工具，包括支援可延伸標記語言 (Extensible Markup Language, XML)，以及強調功能與形式一致性的共享科技。

英文／多國語言版的安裝軟體包括基本的英文安裝 CD-ROMs 、可選擇一種或多種語言介面的附加光碟MUI 套件。
